GRAPES: Co-ferment. Blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Grolleau, 10% Cot (a.k.a. Malbec in this part of France).
FUNDAMENTALS: Organic. Hand-harvested, native yeast, whole cluster fermentation using semi-carbonic maceration in stainless steel tanks. Finished up in fiberglass. Unfined, unfiltered, zero sulfur.
PROFILE: Dry. Medium body. Earthy bell pepper, crunchy cranberry, red plum, umami-mushroomy, herbaceous. Drink with a slight chill. Vin de soif.
FUN FACTS: Winemaker, Olivier Lemasson, was formerly a sommelier in Paris before setting out on his own. And, the name of this wine changes every year: 'R' (for Rouge) + '20' (the vintage). The blend changes slightly every year!
