GRAPES: 65% Petite Sirah, 35% Syrah
FUNDAMENTALS: Minimal intervention. Mostly organic Mendocino fruit. The Syrah was hand-picked first and vinified in egg-shaped fermenters. The Petite Sirah was fermented in stainless steel. All native yeast. Unfiltered for texture. Low sulfur.
PROFILE: Dry. Cloudy and zesty. Watermelon, raspberry Starburst, ruby grapefruit, prickly pear. Medium body. Just-right acidity.
PAIRINGS: Super on its own. Perfect with anything you'd want to eat spring through summer. Ah yeah: radish/butter/sea salt crostini.
FUN FACT: As an African American vintner, winemaker Chris Christensen works to promote diversity and inclusion in the wine industry through speaking engagements, podcasts, and mentorship opportunities for aspiring vintners and winery owners. He's a true medieval-history nerd, even naming his own winery after a battle in the Hundred Years War.
