A bold, but approachable, rendition of Aglianico. Grown sustainably by cooperative farmers in the Sannio region of Campania, in southern Italy. Aglianico usually gets better with age, and this is no exception. A superb value.
+ PROFILE: I'm savory, with dry cherry, black fruit, and herbal notes - backed by tobacco leaf tannins. Smooth and bold: a gastronomic wine, best enjoyed with bold cheeses, meat or rich pasta dishes.
+ FUNDAMENTALS: The wine undergoes intense maceration during fermentation and is aged in oak barrels and barriques, which adds complexity and depth.
