Luis Moya, 'Kimera' Garnacha Blanca Ancestral 2021

Availability: In stock

CALL IT...HEAVY METAL

That's one wacky, silvery, lobster-with-a-Metropolis-tower-head label. But inside, you'll find a delicate sparkling wine that's super dry, clean, elegant and boasting an unexpectedly filigreed finesse.

+ GRAPE: Organic. 100% Garnacha Blanca. Grown in the San Martin de Unx subzone of the Navarra at 600M.

+ PROFILE: Bone dry and elegant. Clean, steely, minerally, alkaline. Crisp yellow apple, yellow plum. A touch of wild herbs. Tiny, persistent bubbles.

+ FUNDAMENTALS: Hand harvested grapes. Wild yeast. Vinified in stainless steel using the pet-nat 'ancestral' method. Disgorged, filled with the same wine, and let rest for nine months. 125 cases made.

+ FUN FACTS:  The grapes come from rehabilitated vines in tiny parcels. Luis Moya Tortosa calls himself  a 'nomadic winemaker', as he sources from tiny backyard family plots throughout Navarra.
