Iwai ['E-Y'] Tradition is an exceptional introduction to the world of Mars’s Nagano-produced whisky. Malt-driven, with a very small amount of peat for a complexity. Meant to be enjoyed neat, with a touch of water, or in a classic highball.
Blended Japanese whisky from Mars Komagatake (fka Mars Shinshu) in Nagano, Japan.
+ PROFILE: Toffee, vanilla, nougat, black tea, dark chocolate, cinnamon, lightly earthy peat
+ MASHBILL: 70% very lightly peated malted barley + 30% corn
+ DISTILLATION: Double distilled in copper pot stills
+ AGING: Primarily in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks
+ PROOFED: To 40% ABV, using granite-filtered Alpine water from nearby Mt. Kiso-Komagatake
