Durdilly et Fils, 'Les Grandes Coasses' Beaujolais 2024

Availability: In stock

CLASS ACT

An exceptional reference point for entry-level Beaujolais.

+ PROFILE:  Violets, black cherry, black raspberry, flinty-minerals and an herbal finish that's right on the money. Silky tannins make this a just-right weekday warrior.

+ FUNDAMENTALS:  A blend of 40-80 year old Gamay plots planted on high-elevation steep slopes - none of which see chemicals - grown in the Pierre Dorees, south of Brouilly. This area is named for its golden limestone soil. Fermentation is with wild yeast, semi-carbonic, then aged in a combination of concrete and old foudre before getting bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur.
