A rosso that channels the mountainous peaks of northwest Piemonte - a stone's throw from Valle d'Aosta. Grown by a cooperative of 71+ winemakers with tiny parcels, founded in 1960.
+ GRAPE: Organic. 100% Nebbiolo, or 'Spanna' as it's known in the local dialect. Grown at a high elevation on rocky, glacial schist.
+ FUNDAMENTALS: Fermented in stainless steel and/or cement, finished in large, neutral botti [oak barrels].
