ABOUT
Les Sablettes is the second wine from world renowned Chateau Doisy Vedrines. This Chateau has been producing Sauternes in the Barsac region for over 200 hundred years. Their soils are fairly typical of the region, dominated by the red soils of Barsac, a mix of argilo-limestone, sand and also some clay, over limestone bedrock peppered with fossilized shellfish.
The relationship between the the soil, the climate and the vines is complicit in its ability to give botrytis an opportunity to work its magic. Once ready, grapes are hand-harvested and sorted up to nine times over the course of 6-8 weeks.
