Schlossmuhlenhof, 'Boden Funk' Muller-Thurgau 2022

Availability: In stock

BODEN FUNK: LOST IN TRANSLATION

Not at all funky! In loose translation, Boden Funk is akin to 'sound waves' - e.g. the energy that is transmitted through the roots, vines, and grapes.

+ GRAPE: Organic. 100% Muller-Thurgau grown in Rheinhessen, Germany from 25-year-old vines. The grape is a cross between Riesling and Madeleine Royale, created in 1882 by Dr. Herman Muller based in Thurgau, Switzerland.

+ PROFILE: Dry, zesty lemonade characteristics, light grapefruit, yellow-currant. Pleasantly textural, with zippy acidity on the finish. Screw cap.

+ AS YOU LIKE IT: Choose your own adventure here: gentle roll the bottle to add in some texture, or leave it clean and clear.

+ IF/THEN: If you like the citrusy, bright acidity of Sauvignon Blanc, you will enjoy this wine! It's also a nice companion to our popular Mary Taylor Cotes de Gascogne or Christina Gruner Veltliner if that's your vibe.

+ FUNDAMENTALS: Hand-harvested, and left to macerate on the skins for one day. Wild yeast. The wine then spends five months on the lees in stainless steel before bottling, unfiltered. Just a touch of sulfur, at bottling.
