Terres Dorees, 'L'Ancien' Beaujolais Vielles Vignes 2023

GOLDEN EARTH, ANCIENT VINES

I'm a delightful everyday Beaujolais from a thoughtful, skilled winemaker. A wonderful bottle to grace a holiday - or any - table.

+ GRAPE: 100% Gamay. Organic farming, 40-60 year old vines. Grown in Charnay, in the southern Beaujolais region of France.

+ PROFILE: Classic. Dry-juicy. Medium+ body. Plush, ripe berry, bing cherry, dried herbs, and a citrusy-style acidity, lending a balance between the fruit and the finish. A mineral streak throughout.

+ FUNDAMENTALS: The vineyard slopes are high in golden limestone that is laden with iron, lending a wonderful mineral quality. Vinification is traditional Burgundian: grapes are destemmed, crushed and fermented with wild yeasts in concrete vats, and without the use of carbonic maceration. Low sulfites, light filtration.
