From Vino di Anna comes this new chillable, everyday Sicilian red that deserves to be in heavy rotation. That she calls it 'sfuso' - Italian slang for 'bulk wines' produced primarily in the south - is tongue-in-cheek: it's anything but!
+ GRAPES: Organic blend of mostly Nerelleo Mascalese, plus Nerello Cappuccio, some Grenache, and a splash of indigenous white grapes. Grown on the slopes of the Mount Etna volcano. Primarily estate fruit.
+ FUNDAMENTALS: Fermented in clay quevri, and aged in chestnut barrels. Low sulfites, just at bottling. So this is interesting: this blend is 84% classic Vino Di Anna field blend, plus 15% Palmento Rosso and 1% Jeudi 15 Rosato to brighten the wine. A triumph! :)
